Dear Friend of WRI-13
WRI-13 has received so far more than 250 extended abstracts which will secure the familiar character
of our conference in Guanajuato. We want to invite all participants to register formally and also take
the opportunity to register for one of our incredible field trips.
Looking forward seeing everybody in Guanajuato in August.
Instructions for Preparing Papers
Note: Draft Manuscripts are due February 28, 2010.
WRI-13 expects full papers only, without receiving short abstracts first.
The WRI-13 Proceedings will be published both as electronic (CD-ROM) and paper versions (Proceeding Volumes).
Authors need to take care to prepare their papers carefully following the instructions below.
In order to guarantee a standard format and high-quality for the Proceeding Volumes, it will be indispensable to
use the provided template document. All papers must be submitted in electronic form (by e-mail, or on disk). We
cannot include papers sent by fax or in hard-copy only. Our preferred form for the files is in Word97/98/2K/XP/2003
format (either Windows or Macintosh). The papers should be prepared as a single file, appropriately formatted
with diagrams all included in the body of the text (not at the end of the manuscript). Please provide a list
of suggested reviewers for your paper.
Note: When an Author submits a paper or article to the Publisher, the Author is obliged to sign and
return a Consent to Publish Form, which will be provided by the Editor of the proceedings. With submitting
a paper for publication the Author agrees to transfer the copyright of his paper to the Publisher, and the
Publisher has the right to publish the paper.
Preparing Your Files
-
Please use the document template we have provided. This is a firm requirement. Using the template will
help provide a uniform format for the final document. You can download the templates from our web page at:
http://wri13.cicese.com/docs/authors-instructions.zip
-
Once you have downloaded the instructions, unzip the file, and follow the instructions described in the
files “Read Me.pdf” and “Instructions.pdf”.
-
Once you have created a new file using the chosen template, type (or paste) your text directly into that
template document. Do not try to replicate the template in a separate document, as the appearance will
not be the same.
-
It is very important that you use the styles in the document. For example, use Heading 1 style for section
headings, etc. Do not add extra line breaks between paragraphs or sections. Using the styles will provide
the correct spacing between paragraphs and sections.
-
For pictures and diagrams please follow the instructions in file “Artwork.pdf”. Place your figures in the
body of the manuscript, not at the end. The publisher will reduce your paper to 75% and print it in black.
For this reason, please check that the print is clear and of a high quality.
-
If you are using a Macintosh, do not convert your final file to Windows format. Just send us Macintosh
format via Email or on a Macintosh disk.
-
If you are using Word 2007, please save your file in Word 2003/2000/1997 format and send us the .doc file
to avoid as much as possible incompatibility problems.
-
Papers must be in English. Please have your manuscript proofread carefully before submitting. Prior review
for English is a good idea.
-
Papers should not be longer than 4 pages in total.
-
Your paper must have a specific name, please read the file “Instructions.pdf” for naming your paper.
-
The general structure of the paper should be something like: Abstract, Introduction, Sections/Subsections,
Conclusions, Nomenclature, References.
